Hi! I was Raised between Germany and Canada, I spent my 20s as a ski guide in BC & Alberta, then worked as a medic in the energy sector. In my mid-30s my husband swept me to his childhood island - I instantly fell for the beaches, forests, and laid-back vibe. Now we love welcoming travellers, especially families discovering this magic for the first time. I'm happiest sharing our favourite hidden spots, coffee shops, and trails. Stay with us for a warm island welcome and all the local tips! I’ve been hosting travellers for 4 years and I love every moment of it. We’ve maintained our super goat status since we earned it in 2022.

Welcome to our Saanich Gallery Guesthouse, a cozy and private home base for exploring Victoria and beautiful southern Vancouver Island. Our home is an original 1920s Saanich farmhouse that we’ve been slowly bringing back to life, blending its original character with thoughtful modern updates. The guesthouse is a renovated, approximately 900 sq. ft. lower-level walk-out with two bedrooms, a large bathroom, private laundry, a fully equipped galley kitchen, comfortable living space and Smart TV—giving you everything you need to settle in and feel at home. The suite has its own private entrance and is fully furnished with kitchen essentials, fresh linens and the everyday comforts you’ll need during your stay. The walk-out location provides easy access to the shared yard, and the two-bedroom layout makes the space particularly well suited to families, couples travelling together, longer stays, or guests visiting UVic or Camosun College. As part of a character home built in the 1920s, the guesthouse does have lower ceilings in some areas, which is part of the charm and something we like guests to know before arriving. We’re located in a quiet residential Saanich neighbourhood close to UVic, Camosun College, beaches, parks, trails, shopping and everyday essentials, while still providing easy access to downtown Victoria and the Inner Harbour. Spend the morning walking the trails at PKOLS (Mount Douglas), take the kids to Cadboro-Gyro Park and the beach, explore nearby Mount Tolmie, or head downtown for Victoria’s Inner Harbour, Fisherman’s Wharf, Beacon Hill Park and the Royal BC Museum. The world-famous Butchart Gardens are also an easy day trip from here. As longtime locals and owners of a small Victoria landscaping business, we love our community and supporting the independent restaurants, coffee shops and businesses that make this part of Vancouver Island special. Throughout this guide, we’ve included some of our favourite local places alongside Victoria’s must-see attractions. Whether you’re here for a family holiday, visiting someone at UVic, exploring Vancouver Island, or settling in for a longer stay, we hope you feel at home here and enjoy discovering our little corner of the island.

Welcome to Our Home We want you to settle in, get comfortable and enjoy your stay. This is our family home in a quiet residential neighbourhood, so we simply ask that you treat the space, our property and our neighbours with care and respect. Quiet Hours & Neighbours Please keep noise to a respectful level, particularly during evening and nighttime hours. No parties, events or gatherings are permitted, and only registered guests may stay overnight. No Smoking or Vaping Smoking and vaping are not permitted anywhere inside the guesthouse. If smoking outdoors, please be respectful of the property and dispose of everything properly. Shoes Off Inside We kindly ask that outdoor shoes be removed when entering the guesthouse, particularly during wet weather. Kitchen You're welcome to use the kitchen and everything we've provided during your stay. Please wash used dishes and cookware and return items to their proper places. If you use the last of something we've provided, just let us know. Plumbing As this is a 1920s home, our plumbing appreciates a little extra care! Please only flush toilet paper. Wipes, feminine products, paper towel, grease, food and other materials should never be put down the toilet or drains. Guests may be responsible for plumbing costs resulting from misuse. Laundry The washer and dryer are provided for your private use. Please don't overload the machines and follow any instructions provided in the guesthouse. Heating & Safety Please never place clothing, towels, bedding or other belongings directly on heaters or block heating vents. When leaving the guesthouse, please make sure appliances are turned off and doors are properly secured. Children Families are very welcome here. Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising children throughout their stay, particularly in the yard and around the property. Shared Outdoor Space You're welcome to enjoy the outdoor areas designated for guest use. Please remember that the yard is shared with our family and be respectful of our home, landscaping and neighbours. Parking Please park only in the designated guest parking area and avoid blocking driveways, neighbouring properties or access areas. Garbage & Recycling Please separate garbage, recycling and compost according to the instructions provided in the guesthouse and place them in the designated bins. Before You Leave Please take care of your dishes, place garbage and recycling in the appropriate bins, turn off appliances, secure windows and doors, and leave the guesthouse in reasonably tidy condition. Most importantly, enjoy your stay! We love our home and our little corner of Saanich, and we're happy to share it with you.
