Vancouver Island attracts people who need a place for a few nights, a few weeks, or a few months — weekend visitors, travelling nurses, film crews, tradespeople on a project, students, remote workers, families between homes, and snowbirds escaping the prairie winter.
Those stays often fall between the cracks. Nightly booking platforms price longer stays badly and take a cut of every reservation. Classified sites are noisy, unverified, and anonymous. Visitr exists for that gap: a curated, local directory of furnished homes, suites and cabins for stays of every length — where hosts pay one flat annual fee and guests contact them directly.
Who we are
Sam & Sam
We're Sam and Sam — two people, three kids, one dog, and more farm animals than we planned on. We live here on Vancouver Island, and between school runs, chores and chicken wrangling, we host guests ourselves.
That's where Visitr came from. We know what it's like to open your home to someone arriving for a season of work, a family visit, or a quiet week on the coast — and we know how much of that gets lost on the big platforms. We wanted something that felt like the Island: people talking to people, no commission skimmed off the top, and neighbours vouching for neighbours.
So Visitr is small on purpose. We read every listing before it goes live, we answer our own email, and we only cover one place — the Island we live on. If you're hosting here, or coming for a while, we'd love to hear from you.
